ENGLISH MEANING
The angular measurement between a reference direction and a target point.
Azimuth is used mainly in navigation, astronomy and surveying to specify the direction of an object relative to north. It is expressed in degrees, clockwise from the reference point. The term adds precision when simple cardinal directions are not enough.
