Women’s U19 Bangladesh Showed Promising Performance

Semi-finalists are unveiled; Bangladesh once again showed a pronounced performance; Under 19 Women’s World Cup 2023

There were 2 matches on the last day. UAE played against Bangladesh, and England played against West Indies. Bangladesh won its match with 5 wickets, while a complete dominance of 95 runs was observed from the English side over the West Indies girls.

UAE and Bangladesh game was played in North-West University Oval, Potchefstroom. UAE batted first and set a target of 69 at the loss of 9 wickets. Lavanya Keny was the top scorer with 29 runs. Rabeya bagged 3 wickets. In response, Bangla girls achieved the target in 9.1 overs with 5 wickets in their hands. Shorna Akter was the pronounced batter from the Bangla side. She scored 38 runs against 19 balls.

England vs. West Indies match was played at JB Marks Oval, Potchefstroom. England won the toss and chose to bat first. While playing, the English team set a target of 179 at the loss of 4 wickets. Grace Scrivens played an exceptional 56 runs innings. Ashmini Munisar bagged 2 wickets. In response, the West Indies team completely collapsed at 84 runs. The only pronounced player was Djenaba Joseph. She added 44 in the cumulative run. Ellie Anderson sent 5 players back to the pavilion.

India will play its semi-final against New Zealand on 27 January. On the same day, England will face its historic rival, Australia.
