Samantha Ruth Prabhu Injured on ‘Citadel’ Set

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, an actress, sustains an injury while filming the Indian version of the US television program Citadel.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is an Indian actress and model who appears predominantly in Tamil and Telugu films. She made her debut in 2010 with Gautham Menon’s romantic Telugu film Ye Maaya Chesave and followed it with a successful run in the Tamil film industry. Her notable performances include the critically acclaimed films Eega (2012), Neethaane En Ponvasantham (2012), Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu (2012), and Kaththi (2014). She has won numerous awards for her performances, including three Filmfare Awards for Best Actress-Telugu, two Filmfare Awards for Best Actress-Tamil, and three Nandi Awards. Prabhu has also ventured into production with the successful venture Oh Baby (2019). She is an active philanthropist and works with many charities, including Pratyusha Support.

On social media, the actress posted an image of her injuries. She threw down the photo of her bloodied and wounded hands. Samantha is reportedly taking martial arts lessons because she will be required to act in some extremely tough action scenes for the series. The show’s producers have hired a Hollywood action director to provide the training.

The 35-year-old actress posted a video on her Instagram story a few days ago showing her practicing action scenes with Yannick Ben, an action director and stunt performer.

Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden star in the outstanding Russo brothers’ film Citadel. The same director team behind Shahid Kapoor’s Farzi will helm the Indian adaptation of the program, which will star Samantha and Varun Dhawan in the pivotal roles.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is preparing for the release of the upcoming movie Shaakuntalam in the meantime. According to IndiaToday, she will also appear in the romantic drama flick Kushi.
