LESCO Issued a Notice to the Zaman Park Administration of the Alleged Electricity Theft

A legal notice has been issued by LESCO for electricity theft and preventing the team from entering Zaman Park.

Lahore Electricity and Supply Company has issued a legal notice to the Zaman Park administration on the alleged electricity theft and also for preventing its team to investigate the matter inside the PTI camps in Zaman Park.

In the legal notice by LESCO, it is mentioned clearly that on several social media handles, there were reports of electricity theft and when the LESCO team was deployed to find out the truth, the security of Zaman Park didn’t allow the team to enter the premises.

Commenting on the issue LESCO’s board of directors, Chairman Mian Noman said that issue arose when the activists and local PTI leaders started setting up camps in Zaman Park, until then there were no such reports of electricity theft.

“The main issue is that our team is not able to check and penalize the real culprits involved in electricity theft. Whenever they are dispatched they are either bullied by the PTI supporters or stopped at the entry points”.

He further said that in such an insecure and unsafe situation how our team can enter the premises and perform their duties?

Meanwhile, in the issued notice it is asked to cooperate with the LESCO team and let them perform their duty otherwise they will be left with no option but to ask security agencies like the police to help them. The institution also reserves the rights of unilateral litigation.
