The daughter of the former premier and senior vice president of the PML-N, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, underwent a successful, three-hour throat procedure in Switzerland.
In a tweet, information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb provided the update and stated that the 49-year-old had a successful throat operation and was recovering well.
Maryam thanked the populace and party members for their kind wishes and prayers, Aurangzeb continued.
Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz left the British capital earlier this week for Geneva, Switzerland. In order to take on her new roles as the party's chief organiser, the senior party leader will travel back to her native country in the second half of this month.
