According to Khan, who was the former Prime Minister, a system cannot function effectively if responsibility and authority are not combined in one individual. He added that in Pakistan, the military’s policies are determined by the army chief alone, which creates a dependence on the personality of the individual.
In addition to discussing his positive experience working with the former army chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Khan also expressed concerns about the former chief’s relationship with corrupt individuals. According to him, the recent regime change in the country was the result of General Bajwa’s close ties with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and their collaborative efforts.
Furthermore, Khan expressed his views on the current political and economic crisis in Pakistan, as well as his demand for general elections. According to him, the credibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has been destroyed, making it impossible to hold fair elections.
Regarding Pakistan’s bilateral ties with Afghanistan, Khan stressed the importance of good relations, regardless of the government in power. He expressed disappointment in the incumbent government’s failure to secure assistance from Afghanistan against rising terrorism in the country. Khan emphasized the importance of maintaining good relations with Afghanistan, since Pakistan cannot afford to wage another war on terrorism.
Khan stressed the importance of entrusting responsibility and authority to the elected government and the need for close relationships with neighboring countries so that stability and security may be assured.
