Apple Warned: Delay In iPhones Shipments

Apple has warned customers to expect delays in receiving their products following the closure of the world’s largest iPhone production due to a strict Covid shutdown.

Foxconn, Apple’s main subcontractor, shut down its massive factory in Zhengzhou last month due to an increase in infections, in accordance with China’s zero-Covid policy.Following reports of poor working conditions at the complex, which employs hundreds of thousands of people, employees fled the scene on foot this week.

“At the moment, the facility is operating at significantly reduced capacity.”

“We are prioritising the health and safety of the workers in our supply chain, as we have done throughout the Covid-19 outbreak,” said Apple, which debuted its new iPhone line in September.

“The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max variants remain popular.” Customers will have to wait longer for their new products because we now expect lower shipments of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max than we previously predicted.”

Investors who expected China to lift its Covid restrictions soon will most likely be disappointed by the announcement. The Chinese stock markets rose sharply on Friday as a result of rumours that the lockdowns would be lifted soon.
