Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), criticised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for its ongoing effort to discredit the judiciary and judges. He claimed that the PML-N has a track record of undermining the judiciary and purchasing judges, which has undermined the nation’s democratic values.
Khan claimed that the PML-N is currently using illegal phone tapping to exert pressure on judges and stop them from upholding the Constitution. He urged the judiciary to uphold the rule of law and the Constitution as supreme without bowing to outside pressure.
Khan also charged Sikandar Sultan Raja, the chief election commissioner, with aiding the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in disobeying the law. He claimed that by intimidating their allies through political victimisation, the current administration is fostering political dictatorship in the nation.
With the help of the populace, Khan vowed to put an end to this lawlessness and uphold democratic principles. He continued by saying that establishing the rule of law is necessary for economic stability and that stability in Pakistan cannot be achieved without it.
In addition, Khan reiterated that the former army chief, Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, admitted to changing the government and influencing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). According to him, Bajwa violated his oath and illegally recorded phone calls. These allegations should be investigated by the military, according to Khan.
In a tweet, Khan condemned the recent terrorist attack on Karachi Police Office and blamed the government for the increase in terrorism, especially in urban centers. He held the government responsible for failing to implement a clear proactive anti-terrorism policy.
Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, who met with PTI Chairman Khan, denounced the PML-anti-judiciary N’s campaign. They talked about the current political climate, the “Jail Bharo” movement, and the failure to set election dates in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. Elahi backed Khan and blasted the current leaders for disobeying the Lahore High Court’s orders and undermining the Constitution’s sanctity.
A Muslim League leader and former federal interior minister, Sheikh Rashid, also met with Khan and discussed the current political situation. Rashid urged immediate elections and claimed that anyone who delays them beyond 90 days would be a traitor. Further, he stated that Khan represents the voice of the nation and that the people must stand with him.
In order to achieve stability and economic advancement in Pakistan, PTI Chairman Imran Khan emphasised the significance of upholding the Constitution, the rule of law, and democratic values.
He criticised the PML-N for its anti-judiciary campaign and charged the current administration with encouraging political authoritarianism in the nation. Khan pleaded with the crowd to stand with him and oppose lawlessness and political victimisation.
