Shoaib Malik is hoping to return to the national T20 team. He will turn 41 on February 01. The veteran has retired from the test and ODI but is still available for the T20 format. He was part of the team against Bangladesh in November 2021 for the last time.
After that, he is continuously playing in international T20 leagues. He is performing very well for his team. Nowadays, he is playing in Bangladesh Premier League BPL. he is a key star of Rangpur riders.
Last day, he talked to a media person and said,
“Trust me, even though I’m the oldest in the team, you can compare my fitness with a 25-year old. So, I guess what motivates me is I still enjoy coming to the ground and I still think that the hunger is there and until the time these two things are there, I’m gonna keep playing cricket and this is why I am not even thinking of retiring,”
He also talked about his plan with the following word,
“I would like to retire from internationals and complete cricket once and for all, but I’m not even thinking about it right now. I enjoy my cricket whenever I get an opportunity. I do go and play. I have already retired from Tests, ODIs, and T20s; yes, I’m still very much available, and wherever I get my opportunity, I will give my best shot.”
Today his team, Rangpur Riders, will play a match against Dhaka Dominators.
