Yesterday Mr. Najam Sethi talked to the media. In a press conference, he discussed multiple issues and made announcements.
He announced that the new chief selector of the Pakistan cricket team would be Mr. Haroon Rasheed. Haroon is a former test cricketer of Pakistan cricket team. He played 23 matches and scored 3 centuries in his career. He also played 12 ODIs and was able to score only 1 fifty. The rumor about Shoiab’s appointment as a chief selector has been hidden under the carpet with this announcement.
He also said that he is personally in touch with former Pakistani cricket coach Mickey Arthur. He said that 90% of matters had been solved. Soon, he will announce that he is coming to Pakistan as a coach. He was the coach of the team from 2016 to 2019. Under his coaching, Pakistan won the ICC champion trophy in 2017.
Sethi also added that he would attend the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). he will meet with board members and represent his case of holding the Asia Cup in Pakistan. He was there in Dubai, ILT inauguration, to meet members, but he could not meet with BCCI and ACC chairman Jay Shah.
