As the rupee continues to slump against the US dollar, local bike and car assemblers are passing on the economic burden to the consumers. Atlas Honda, one of the leading bike manufacturers in Pakistan, has announced a second price hike in the last 30 days.
According to the company’s notification, the price increase will affect all Honda bikes, with some models seeing a hike of up to Rs. 15,000. This comes after the car makers also increased their prices, further exacerbating the financial pressure on the public.
New Honda Bike Prices
- The Honda CD 70, one of the most popular models, will now cost Rs. 154,900, an increase of Rs. 5,000 from the previous rate of Rs. 149,900.
- The Honda CD 70 Dream will now be available at Rs. 165,900, compared to the old price of Rs. 160,900, a rise of Rs. 5,000.
- The Honda Pridor’s new price is Rs. 203,900, up from Rs. 197,900, with a hike of Rs. 6,000.
- The Honda CG 125, another well-known model, will cost Rs. 229,900, an increase of Rs. 7,000 from the previous rate of Rs. 222,900.
- The Honda CG 125 SE has seen the largest hike of Rs. 10,000, with a new price of Rs. 275,900, up from Rs. 265,900.
- The Honda CB 125F’s new price is Rs. 380,900, up from Rs. 365,900, with a hike of Rs. 15,000.
- The Honda CB 150F will now be available at Rs. 473,900, compared to the old rate of Rs. 458,900, a rise of Rs. 15,000.
- The Honda CB 150F SE has also seen a jump of Rs. 15,000, with a new price of Rs. 477,900, up from Rs. 462,900.
The public has already experienced significant financial hardship as a result of the recession, and the additional price increases on necessities like bicycles will make matters worse.
To stabilise the rupee and stop the cost of living from rising further, the government must act right away.
