The ruling alliance’s president, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, claimed Saturday that the Supreme Court’s three-judge panel, headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, hearing the election delay petition is untrustworthy.
“We distrust this court. PDM distrusts this three-judge bench “At an Islamabad press conference, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) head Fazl claims.
The PDM president stated his distrust after the ruling alliance—comprised of 13 political parties—decided to boycott the bench in a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore today, where PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif also supported their decision.
Fazl stated that the chief justice and other two justices should morally disqualify themselves from this issue during the presser. The PDM president claimed that a few judges want to help Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, whose party is challenging the vote delay.
He further said that two major riggers are on the loose and being ignored and that polls should be held on the same day nationwide to unite the country.
“Imran Khan wants divides inside institutions,” Fazl remarked, emphasising the PTI chief’s apex court argument.
