In Pakistan, Careem, a popular ride-hailing platform, plans to introduce an exclusive women-driven motorbike service, starting with Karachi and expanding to other cities.
In order to provide safe and reliable transportation for female customers who often have difficulty traveling alone, this service was developed.
Furthermore, it aims to empower women by providing flexible income-generating options that will allow them to achieve financial stability.
Female motorbike Captains will receive guaranteed monthly payments of Rs 30,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively, under Careem’s two service models, which are part-time (5 hours) and full-time (10 hours).
Careem will also give female Captains bonuses, priority access to safety and security helplines, and exemption from paying any commission to the platform. All of the company’s female Captains are already given special bonuses as incentives, which makes it more appealing for them to work on the platform.
