The Punjab Assembly is in session is going, with lawmakers from both the treasury and opposition benches shouting slogans and making a disturbance for the third day.
The PTI claims to have the required numbers, but the opposition has pointed out that numerous MPAs from the party are now abroad.
In an interview with a television channel, Fawad stated that 185 MPs from the PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) were present in the session, with two more on their way.
The former federal communications minister said the two members were on their way to the session from Chakwal and Bahawalpur, respectively, and once “they are in the parliament, Elahi would take the vote of confidence.”
The outcome comes after the Lahore High Court (LHC) declared that the “governor is empowered to invite the chief minister to take a vote of confidence during an ongoing session,” which the PTI has repeatedly denied.

The LHC’s decision came during a hearing on CM Elahi’s appeal against Punjab Governor Baligh-Ur-de-notification. Rehman’s The governor fired the chief minister last month via notification after he failed to take a vote of confidence within the time limit.
Fawad went on to say that after the vote of confidence is taken, the petition filed in the high court will be withdrawn, and the summary for dissolving both the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa legislatures will be delivered tomorrow.
