PTI Challenged the Appointment of Mohsin Naqvi, as Caretaker Chief Minister, in SC

Islamabad: Pakistan Tahreek-e-insaf Challenged the appointment, of Mohsin Naqvi as CM Punjab, in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The Election Commission of Pakistan appointed Mohsin Naqvi as the interim chief minister of Punjab; the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition before the Supreme Court challenging this decision (ECP).

Asad Umar, the PTI’s general secretary, initiated the petition on behalf of the PTI as a political organization.

The appointment of Raja Riaz as the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly has also been contested by the PTI in the same petition.

A media magnate named Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi as Punjab’s caretaker chief executive on Sunday night after the ECP voted to do so unanimously.

As one of the two candidates put out by Hamza Shehbaz, Naqvi is rumored to be close to PPP chief Asif Ali Zardari.

In order to prevent Naqvi from serving as interim chief minister of Punjab, the petitioners have asked the court to deem his appointment “null and unlawful.” Additionally, they have contested Babar Bharwana and Ikramullah’s appointment as ECP members.

Imran Khan criticized the commission after Naqvi was nominated for the role, tweeting that while the PML-N has a history of choosing its own umpires and that the ECP’s choice of a sworn enemy of the PTI for the job was “crazy,”
