The well-known journalist and broadcaster Mishal Bukhari died at the age of 38 following a two-year battle with cancer.
Ameer Abbas, who is also a well-known anchor, shared the sad news of Mishal’s passing on Twitter.
“My wife, journalist Mishal Bukhari, left an unimaginable shock after surviving cancer for two years,” Abbas wrote. “She had a lovely heart, an outstanding personality, an exceedingly patient, tremendously strong woman.”
Today at 1pm, the journalist’s funeral prayers will be held in Lahore’s Jamia Masjid-al-Muntazir.
Mishal, a broadcast journalist with numerous accolades, was born on July 8th, 1984 in Karachi. On a private TV channel, she began her career as a news anchor. She was employed by Pakistan Television as well.
When word of her tragic death spread, other journalists and politicians expressed their sorrow by sending condolences.

At the beginning of 2023, Pakistan lost yet another journalist after 2022, a year marked by numerous terrible fatalities, including senior Pakistani journalists. Famous television personality Aamir Liaquat Hussain, anchor Arshad Sharif, and president of Jang Press Imran Aslam all unexpectedly passed away in the past year.
The news of Hussain’s unexpected demise shocked the nation in July 2022. The terrible murder of Sharif, who was shot dead by Kenyan police in Nairobi in October after a “mistaken identity” incident, came next.
Later in December, Aslam, a legendary journalist, died while receiving care at a nearby hospital.
