To assist taxpayers in the payment of duties and taxes, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that all Large Taxpayer Offices (LTOs), Medium Tax Offices (MTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) will remain open and observe extended working hours on December 30 (Friday) and December 31 (Saturday).
The FBR gave the field formations instructions in this regard on Friday.
All LTOs, MTOs, CTOs, and RTOs will maintain regular business hours on Friday, December 30, until 8:00 PM, and on Saturday, December 31, until 10:00 PM (Saturday).
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and authorised branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) are requested to establish liaison with the Chief Commissioners of Inland Revenue (IR) to ensure the transfer of tax collected by these branches to the respective State Bank of Pakistan branches on the same date to account for the same towards the collection for the month of December 2022.
In this regard, Chief Commissioners IR may only direct those officers/officials to observe longer working hours if they are involved in the facilitation of taxpayers’ return filing, collection, and recovery of tax.
