A police outpost in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) was attacked twice, according to reports. The first attack took place in Pir Tangi, near Jandola police station, where militants armed with automatic weapons were met with resistance from the local police and residents. After approximately 10 minutes of exchange of fire, the attackers escaped.
According to Moazzam Jah Ansari, Inspector General of Police, police forces across the province remain on high alert and ready to respond to any future attacks. A search operation has been conducted in the area to locate the attackers, as directed by the IGP.
In a separate attack a couple of hours later, police forces in Daraban, Dera Ismail Khan, were able to repel an attack on another police post with the assistance of the army. No casualties were reported..
As a result of these recent attacks, remote districts like Tank, which shares a border with Waziristan, have become more concerned. However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s police have demonstrated their commitment and readiness to protect its citizens by successfully defending the outposts.
It is a painful reminder that terrorism remains prevalent in Pakistan following the recent attack on a mosque in Peshawar. The people affected by this senseless act of violence have suffered immense losses and suffering as a result of this act of violence.
